MIKE HARDING's Autumn tour

Yes, it's THAT Mike Harding - the one who presents the weekly Folk programme on Radio 2.

Mike has had a breathtakingly broad career as musician, comedian, rambler, mountaineer, poet, travel writer, song writer and much more.

Mike's back on the road for the first time in 15 years with an evening of songs, daft stories and monologues. With a couple of guitars and more than forty years of material to draw on Mike (once described as the grandfather of alternative comedy) will lead you into his own comic world with stories and songs that will have you collapsing with laughter. Several venues on Mike's tour have sold out already and tickets here are selling fast. Bedford is the furthest South that Mike is venturing and Leceister the second furthest. So if want to see the great man live in a venue near you, this is the one to head for.

As an experiment, we are also offering a pre-gig gig in the Howard Room from 7pm to 7-45pm, so this is an exceptionally good value evening.

STEELEYE SPAN - need very little introduction to afficionados of folk rock. For this tour they are travelling as a six piece band for the first time in many years.

Joining Maddy Prior, Peter Knight, Rick Kemp and Liam Genockey and guitarist Julian Littman and multi instrumentalist Pete Zorn.

Expect to hear many of the familiar classics next to gems both old and new, all delivered with a burning passsion and unrivalled experience.

There will be a pre-gig gig from 7pm in the Howard Room, where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, together with a cocktail of new melodies and traditional tunes played on a fabulous array of instruments from the superb all female trio, Zoox.
